    Dog License

The State of Michigan requires by law that all dogs age four months and older must be licensed.  Dog licensing is a function of Livingston County, but Hartland Township processes dog licenses as a service to its residents.

Dog licenses can be obtained at Hartland Township Hall or you may submit your application by mail.  In either case, you will need proof that your dog is current on his rabies vaccination.  The rabies vaccination must be valid for the entire length of the dog license.  Your next license must be purchased by the end of the rabies expiration month or a late fee of $20 will be added to the cost of the license.

    Lost Dog Tags

If your dog’s tag is lost, it can be replaced for a $1 charge.  Send or bring in current proof of rabies vaccination (rabies vaccination cannot expire within 30 days of reissuing tag) and, if available, your copy of the license application.  If you do not have the copy of the application, call or stop in to our office, and we will be happy to look up the information for you.
