  • Trash Hauling & Recycling

Hartland Township does not provide a township-wide garbage service or yard waste pickup. Residents will need to contract their own refuse company. If you’ve recently moved into a subdivision, you should contact your homeowners association, since some have special contracts and rates.

The following companies are some that provide waste hauling in our Township.  Remember to ask if yard waste pickup and/or recycling services are provided.

        Dougie’s Disposal  810-991-1579
        Republic Services  800-438-0966

        GFL Environmental 248-541-4020
        Waste Management 866-797-9018

If you have additional questions, please call the Department of Public Works at (810) 632-7498.

    Recycling

Batteries: You can drop off up to size D batteries at the Township Hall during business hours.

TVs: Many electronics stores accept televisions for recycling (i.e., Best Buy).

Recycle Livingston offers drop off recyling for county residents at a nominal fee. Contact 517-548-4439 or visit www.recyclelivingston.org for information about acceptable materials, location, hours and fees.

The Livingston County Solid Waste Department website also has several resources for recycling items: www.livgov.com/dpw
